Science Department Philosophy

The Science Department of Lakeland Senior High School is keenly aware of its responsibility to develop a curriculum and create a learning atmosphere complementing the total school program. To this end we offer a science curriculum which is diverse enough to offer every student a challenge commensurate with his skill, enabling him to function effectively in a world in which technology, knowledge, and values are constantly changing. In particular, we endeavor to teach problem-solving skills that will equip the student to tackle world complexities in areas of environment and technology. We also strive to foster in all students understanding and appreciation of human achievement in the natural sciences.
