Philosophy: The Exceptional Student Education
Department of Lakeland Senior High School believes that each student is a
unique individual. We believe each student should be continually
encouraged and should be provided opportunities to build self-esteem and to
develop to their fullest potential. We believe that children have a
right to an education in the least restrictive environment possible. For
some students this environment is a full-time special class, and for other
students it is a regular class with support from a resource-room program.
In either case, we are committed to helping each student accomplish the goals
set forth in their Individualized Educational Plan.
