A digital recording of where the tradition started.
Welcome to the history of Lakeland High School. This site was created so that future generations can see how LHS and it’s rich history and traditions came about. Many great students passed through the hallways of LHS. As society changed, so did it’s student body. If there is only one thing that remains, it is the relentless pursuit of excelence in academics and extra curricular activities by students and staff members.
How this site came to be.
This site was made possible through the diligent work done by retired librarian Zita Stanley. She compiled information and published a book titled “Lakeland High School 1889-1999: A Century of Success”. Click here to see her acknowledgments pertaining to the creation of the book.
From Zita’s publication the Multimedia Communications Academy students took the book and converted it to an electronic form of a the very web site you are on right now. Click here to see information about the digitization of Ms. Stanley’s “Lakeland High School 1889-1999: A Century of Success”.
