ACADEMICS

Web | Audio | Video

We are offering three tracks of study for MCA students; Web Design, TV/Video Production, and Digital Audio Production.  It is not the goal of MCA to create Web Designers, TV Producers, or Recording Artists.  MCA merely wants to expose students to the technologies in the multimedia and communications industry in hopes students will pursue a study in one of the three tracks offered at a post secondary institute. The environment of these courses are very much like a college like atmosphere and our hopes are that with students realizing their ability to be successful in this type of setting that they will in turn choose to further their education past high school at a trade, two year, or four year school. Below you will find information on a typical track for a MCA high school student here at Lakeland High School.

  • Upon completing the level 2 course in either track, students can cross over to another track to gain more exposure to other areas of the multimedia and communications field of study. Only after completing their level 2 course can a crossover of study take place.
  • The ideal situation for a Web or TV/Video student is to take their 11th grade elective along with their 10th grade level 2 course if their schedule permits this.  Each student's academic course outside of the academy tracks could vary.
